i have a valve cover that i had powdercoated it it's original color. after it was powdercoated, i put a scratch in it while cleaning up the edges around the lettering. i used some paint to cover up the area (inside the "H"), but it's the wrong color. i want to remove the paint, as i think it looks worse than the original color with a scratch.
is there any way to gently (no matter how slow) i can remove the spray paint without removing the powdercoat? i suppose i'm referring to chemical. i guess i could use rubbing compound to wear through the spray paint....?

i think light touches of goof-off might work. worked for me when i got permanent marker on my paint on the car.

i'll check into it. i'm not sure the effect of petroleum products.. i know carb cleaner has a NASTY effect on powder coating (turns it into a rubbery goo for a while).
