Default car wont kick over

OK so first off my car was overheating like crazy one day. I got it home allright, or so i thought. I replaced the thermostat. I go to start it, nothing. I had a friend help me out, we werent getting spark or fuel, so i went to honda and got a new main relay. Now the motor wants to kick over, but it just can't. It backfires but just doesnt want to start. Any ideas ? suggestions ? becuase im about ready to just junk it.

you replaced your tstat? did you hook the ground wires back up to the housing?

maybe by being dumba nd driving will it was overheating you blew your headgasket and screwed your motor up, which would be deserved for driving around with your temp guage spiked...

but it wasnt like i was driving forever with it overheating. i was going to store for some **** and i saw it was overheating a little. and just 2 weeks ago i put new antifreeze in. i pulloed into the store and walked around for a little not thinking too much of it, i go on my way home like 2 blocks away and overheated about half way there. so of maybe 5minutes of driving could i have blown the head gasket ?

of course 5 minuties of driving with it overheated can blow your head gasket...

is your coolant oily? is your oil overfull and milky? those are good signs of a blown headgasket.

but if you replaced your tstat check the ground that attaches there first, because that is a very common no start problem with hondas, not having all your grounds tight or on for that matter
