Default HELP FROM HONDA

I have a 99 crv 160,000 miles. Always serviced now has receeded valves. Honda only offering 50% of repair costs. Saw on another message board someone getting 100% of repairs plus rent a car. Any advice on how to get Honda to pay more for this repair?

It is a known problem that Honda never told me about! I have three crv's in the family 2 are 99's and 1 is a 2005. I don't think I am being greedy. I always had the car serviced and I recently spent $300 for a new fuel injector because the mechanic thought that might be the problem.
I was just hoping to get some negotiating tips. I have to spend $1500 more for a car that only blue books at 4000. It just seems to me that Honda would have done a recall on these cars if there are that many crv's having this problem.

Is there a TSB out for the problem? Ive had 99, 01, 02, 05, and 06 CRVs with no mechanical problems with any of them. The 1st generation CRV was voted most reliable used car.

That said, if you got 160k mile out of the original engine, I dont think you can complain too much about getting 50% of the cost taken care of by Honda. Yes, Hondas can run 200-300k mi but keep in mind the *warranty* is only 3/36. After that, by law at least, you are 100% on your own! Youve gone over your warranty miles by more than 4x.

I dont think it would be unreasonable to see if the dealer, if they the same ones doing the engine work, would take the $300 mis-diagnosis off the bill or at least a portion of it.

Yes the TSB is Honda tech bulletin is #03-038. The only way I found this out was through the internet, Honda ignored me until I gave them the #.
I understand what you are saying about the warranty, but I first found the information on:
http://www.topix.net/forum/aut...ET/p2
and there are over 30 people with the same problem. My other CRV has 89,000 miles and I am assuming that it will soon have the same problem. $10,000 worth of automobiles worth nothing.

Have you asked on hondasuv.com? Might be someone on there that had success.
