i had just left adams moms house, we were going get my clothes and meet jenna to leave for florida. it was raining HARD, and hadn't rained in about 2 months. i was approaching a redlight and some traffic when i started to slow down. i was going about 20mph when i started to hit my brakes, and my tires just locked up. i left off the brakes and tried to turn the streering wheel to avoid the truck in front of me, but to no avail. my passenger headlight collided with his trailer hitch. the only thing that was wrong w/ his truck is his bumper shifted about 2 inches. my car is pretty messed up. the hood, radiator support, radiator, bumper support, fenders, passenger blinker, both headlights and a few other things are in need of replacement. the guy said he was ok, but my neck and knee hurt, and adams back is hurting him. we'll see how it goes. i called the insurance adjuster, and they're gonna send someone out here to look at it. im about to call the insurance company back to see if i can get a rental car, since i NEED transportation. oh well, i'll let u guys know what happens.

The exact same thing happened to my friends del sol about 3 weeks ago, its weird seeing your car cause it looks exactly like his.....His was considered salvadge...but the frame was actually okay so he kept it and since it wasnt his fault he got major bank back....$5000 to do what he wants to get it back to normal.

He already has a new stock hood, and fenders on....and he just ordered a new front bumper...not sure what kind? Kaminari I think?

And hes gettin the Ground Designs side skirts and rearend, coilovers, wheels and a whole new paint job......he got lucky!

20MPH??? Come on man...That looks more like 35-40MPH.

 

That sucks, spank... How's the engine, does it still run?

 

You'd be surprised how hard and how much force there is with a 2400lb car traveling at 20 mph.

yeah, i thought i was going about 30, but after talking to my friend that was w/ me and the guy i hit (who was not injured what-so-ever) i was going 20-25. donno, it felt like so, but the hit felt harder. my friend said i was going about 25. i dont care really, the speed is not that big of a deal.

 

yeah, motors running. donno if anything happened to it. looks like 2 bolts on the tranny mount are loose. i was able to drive it off the road, but the radiator is fukt so i had to get it towed to my house.

Well it's good that you and your passenger are okay. I hope your insurance covers that. Are you putting the engine in another car or are you going to have your coupe fixed?

 

yah, i got full coverage, so its covered. if its totalled, ill buy it back and put the drivetrain in a HB, otherwise ill fix the coupe

that's a big difference when you only shifted his bumper 2 inches... compared to what he did to u... ouch.. but then again i can relate... i totaled my integra... and only his front headlight broke.. and my paint was on his bumper... as long as you guys are okay... but tell adam he might want to go and check up on his back

 

your motor is also covered by the insurance?? did you register your motor??

dude if you need a radiator support i have one laying around my house...it's brand new...i was going to replace mine with it, but the shop said it would be cheaper to just straighten my old one out...now i have this radiator support and don't know what to do with it...if you want it just email me...good luck with the car man
