Default shaving b18a valve cover gone awry...

well I feel like a total noob now... so I started grinding away my lettering and about halfway down the words to the level of the cover, I started making a hole. basically I'll most likely buy a new valve cover, but is there a good way to finish shaving the lettering? or repair the hole? thanks in advance for input!

Spot/Tack weld it. Then grind it back down.

fixing the hole is one things why you did it with the cover still on the car is another that little hole can do some damage if that debris fell through

I still haven't seen anything about actually shaving that lettering properly yet.

isnt a valve cover 2 layers of metal anyways so you only grounded through the top. So theres just shavings in the space between the two layers

I sanded down my b18c VC with 60 grit sandpaper, a sanding block, and elbow grease. No holes, no problems

we used jb welb on a old beater of mine that had a crack. worked like a charm, cheap easy fix, but not the best cosmetically.
