Coolant smell in heat with recirc off
I have a 96 HX and I can smell coolant with the heat on and the recirc button off. When recirc is on, I don't smell anything. I've never had to add coolant and I don't smell or see any leaks or burning outside the car or under the hood.
Is there anything else I can check?

but the smell instantly goes away when i switch the blower to recirculation. i was thinking if it was the heater core, it would stink all the time.
im thinking maybe theres a tiny leak somewhere and its burning on the exhaust or something and i smell it going into my outside vents.
dude i had the same problem and it turnd out to be the damn thing where the bleeding screw is , ( where the large radiator hose goes to in the top) and it was leaking onto the header drop by drop. Look around man, good luck

i doubt his passenger footboard is wet, wouldnt that mean it would smell anytime the heater motor is on, his only smells when it takes in outside air ( or i think he said).
