My car will fluctuate rev while idleing, it revs up and down, up and down, WTF is this?? It only does it when I an sitting at idle.??? Help!!

 

Unless it is the fan switching on and off, It is most likely the Ignitor coil in your distributor. If you have the manual you can check it with a multimeter, or if you have a friend with an Integra you could switch the coils and see if it fixes it.

I think new ones are around $130, but I'm not sure.

 

i was reading some articles on TI.net and came across the IAC possibly being dirty and can cause fluctuations in idle.

 

how much in rpm is the fluctuation?

yeah. my car used to do the same thing ....but it was the fast idle thermo valve, but just found out my iac valve is bad....

i would check out the

iac

and the

fast idle thermo valve..

 

are u throwin anycodes? do u have a vaccum leak? how is your idle air control valve?

It fluxuates from below 1000 (normal idle), the whole way to 2k.

 

IACV; clean it and change your PCV Valve

 

idle control valve.......thats what mine was doing and it came out to be that.......now its fine

 

its a vacum leak !

 

its ur iacv. clean it out with some simple green and youll be good to go. buyin one will set u back about 250.

 

Don't want to thread jack, but my car is doing the exact same thing and I just cleaned my IACV with no improvement. Any thing else it could possibly be if he does that and it is unsuccessful?

TPS can also cause this problem...it's what my car is doing right now due to a bad tps
