I have a 1996 civic EX with the factory y8 motor. Intake, headers are the only mods i have. I am looking to get better fuel milage and a bt more power withsome ignition wires. What's the best set of wires to get? I was thinking about these 10mm wires (bigger the better?) or taylor 8mm?. Any more suggestions? thanks
i dont think ignition wires are goin to give you any more power...the only way the ignition wires will benefit you is if you upgrade you whole ignition system..(msd, coil, ect...) personally dont waste you money on the wires and save for something more beneficial...
yeah i dont think they give you power.
maybe better milage.
you will only spark like that with the whole system though.
but thats a great spark.

oem or ngk. i tried the nologys on a single cam long ago and they did not perform any better than oem wires. and they constantly kept popping off the plugs. took them off after the first few days.

because lots of people making big numbers still use them

The wires won't make that much of a difference. I'd go with some NGK wires. Those are my favorite. Unless you plan on upgrading all the ignition and plan to make lots of hp. NGK are the best quality wires out there.

I am basically just running oem plugs, (might drop in Iridiums later), OEM cap and rotor. Honestly tmy main concern is the gas milage. The Nologys were way 2 much for me to spend on!
You will not see any increase in gas mileage from upgrading to aftermarket ignition wires from good-condition OEMs. Period. If you want better gas mileage, get Hondata and have your car tuned so it's not running on the ragged edge of safely flooding itself with fuel. This will also give you more power.

Because OEM honda ignition systems as a whole are very stout, and have been found to be able to withstand a high amount of horsepower without issue.
Get new OEM wires if you insist on changing them.

OEM all the way!!! 400+hp on my z6 with stock ignition. Tried running a blaster coil for a bit but it would break up over 20 psi.
