teg idles high when cold?help

Default teg idles high when cold?help

when i start my teg up and when it hasnt warmed up yet it idles at 3000 rpms but when it warms up it idles fine?.?.?

Any one know why?

3000 is kinda high...Mine doesnt go that high; idles around 1500-1700, somewhere near there

mine does the same...i say clean the IACV and see if that helps

a dirty iacv would give the opposite problem... very low rpms...

look at your throttle body and make sure that its clean on the inside... it might be so filthy that its not perfectly closed anymore.

A dirty IACV can cause the idle to be high or low.

i was under the impression that the tegs automatically idle a little high when their cold to help speed up the warming up process. 3k is a little excessive though, mine sits at about 1600. theres a great DIY clean your iacv article on team-integra.net, that would be a good place to start for diagnosing that problem
