Default New to honda's got a question.

I'm thinking of getting 93 del sol with b18b1 motor which i am told its out of the integra ls non vtec it also has the trans as well. now i know that you can do the gsr head swap and make the ls vtec motor but the motor that is in the car has valve chatter. so i'm just trying to learn what other motor i can put in the car. I was thinking about the h22 which tell me if i'm wrong is a 2.2 liter vtec out of the prelude and if i was to do that what would i need to change on the car to make it work. other wise i'm just going to put a new b18b1 motor in and do the ls vtec. i know there are all kinds of motors that can be put in these cars. im just wondering what will go in this car that is vtec and if there are vtec motors that actually just bolt right into what is in there now. bolt right in i mean that line up with the mounts and tranny that are in there but most likely if i get another motor it will be a complete motor and tranny so i'm just looking for an easy rought to get beter power out of the car
cause i would like to be able to supercharge the motor that i put in. among many other things i would plan on doing to it as well. thanks.

Well one of my friends had an H22 in a del-sol and that car was very fast. I think a better choice would be the k20, cuz it's 6 speed and it has 20 more bhp, and it's got the new i-vtec. It's also smaller than the h22 and lighter.

god damnit, when they ask such nooby questions they are NOT going to be able to get a k or even a h22 swap. Give them the cheapest setup they can, a z6/y8 turbo.

Just because they ask "nooby" questions doesn't mean anything. We were all noobs at one time.As far as you know he could have the cash to do a fully built k series turbo.

imo z6/y8 turbo isn't the way to go.just get a new ls head and turbo it.if he goes single cam turbo he better build it right or he's going to enjoy replacing blocks/heads.

if I was the op I would just do a ls/vtec.assuming it is going to be built right.it will last a long time and be way faster than a gsr motor.g/l with whatever you choose to do.

try doing a valve adjustment with your b18b1 first. who knows, that may get rid of the valve chatter.

b16 swap is straight forward seeing as some del sols came with. Someone with no experience in an ls/vtec swap is probably better off doing a complete b16 swap. There is no drilling of the block required that way.
