New Clutch Questions
I just got a new clutch on ma gsr...exedy stage 1...im a noob and wanted to just ask..
1. Why do you have to break in the clutch for 750 miles
2. What does breaking it in consist of
3. ive heard that your not suppose to go over 3500rpms...is this true...

1. To make sure you begin the wear process correctly.
2. Going easy on the car for approx. 500 miles. No dumping the clutch.
3. Correct. Part of the break-in procedure.

Revmatch when upshifting? You don't revmatch when you upshift, just wait for the RPMs to drop a little and let it out smooth, but that's just common sense driving. When you downshift, revmatch (you should be doing this even if you aren't braking a clutch in). Basically just be easy on the clutch and be smooth with it/don't dump the clutch or downshift too hard, etc. I got the same clutch too, and I just broke it in probably less than 1000 miles ago... I can chirp third now.
