Default integra type R stuff into my LS

I'm thinking it may be beneficial to use ITR 4-1 header, cams, cam gears, and pistons. looking to make slightly more power, seeing as the b18c5 is a vtec motor, will i need to have a itr ecu to use the cams and cam gears? or will that raise my compression and be perfectly fine with some tuning?

current setup is a stock jdm b18b1 in my 95 ls special edition. is there anything special I can expect from this setup other than maybe if I'm lucky 10 horses?

dont know if you already know this but you'll need a b16 or b18c vtec head to use those cams along with vtec ecu seeing as a b18b1 is a non vtec.

not to mention you have to machine the rods to fit the pistons, assuming they have enough clearance due to the increased stroke

Is the bore the same also? Maybe it's all the crack I smoked earlier, but for some reason I'm thinking the Type-R and GS-R bore is slightly bigger than the non-vtec blocks.

The ITR exhaust mani isn't anything to write home about. It will be a better unit over another B seriies manifold, but not by much. If you want, look into getting the JDM ITR mani as that one breathes even better than the US based ITR mani.

With the cam gears, there is nothing different between the B-Series cam gears. I even think they are all the same part number. If someone is selling "OEM ITR Cam Gears" that person needs to be slapped up side the head. There is no difference.

Your compression will go up with these parts. I would suggest running Crome and forget about using an ITR ecu. I think you may have problems with that as that ECU is looking for several different sensors that your LS block simply doesn't have.

Also for the price your going to spend on this stuff, I'd keep the block the way it is and slap on a B16 or B18C5 head and call it a day.

jdm itr headers are a 4-1 design so im assuming that is what he wants. the usdm's i believe are 4-2-1

just to answer some of uyr questions. u can use the header and pistons. the rods do need to be machined for the pisotns but its pretty cheap. the cams cant be used because they are vtec cams and ur car is non vtec. if u were to put the pistons in, i would recommend getting a crome ecu to tune it a lil. if u jus wanna slap the header on i would say jus stick with stock ecu until u have more parts so u can tune the motor.

i know the header is interchangeable, but yeah, cams won't work.. might as well just buy high comp pistons for a b18b1 instead... i'll be buying a type r someday anyway... project can wait.

all b18/16 bores are 81mm. only b20's have a bigger (84mm) bore.

the only things from a c5 you can use in you b18b1 are the header, pistons, crank, and rods.
