speedo questions
my b16 in my crx speedo isn't working and i can get it to work if i mess with it,but i need it to register to my ecu that its works and i don't know how to cause i have an obd0 car and ls trans and my car is converted to obd1.obd1 calls for a speed sensor which is different then my 93 ls trans has.i need to get the speed to register to get my vtec to work, cause its not.so is there an easier way to get it to work other then converting to hydro trans? any suggestions would really be helpful
If you have the stock cluster, make sure the cable is connected properly.
Cable Driven VSS = Signal comes from cluster
Electronic VSS = Signal comes from sensor.
Cable Driven VSS = Signal comes from cluster
Electronic VSS = Signal comes from sensor.
i understand dr_latino999,but bejita did you even read what i wrote, i said my cable ls trans doesn't have the same speed sensor, its build into the cable, but the obd1 ecu calls for a sending unit thats on top of the speed speed sensor on a obd1 hydro trans.so if what the other guy is telling me as long as i get the speedo to work on my crx which is just a matter of getting in set right, the speedo will send a signel to my ecu like a sending unit would rom the speed sensor off a obd1 hydro? does everyone agree? i need my vtec to work im starving for it
It doesn't matter what ECU you have as much as what cluster you have. You see, the ECU reads the VSS signal off your cluster, not the other way around. So the VSS is dependent totally on your preference. Run an electronic one if you have a cluster that calls for it, if not keep the cable one. Makes sense?
