Default I have cruise control in my EF Civic!!!!!????

You guys have to check this out. See if you can find it in my engine bay.

What? You cant find it? Look again.

You still cant find it? Well neither can I! But somehow I have cruise control. But it comes on and off when it pleases. lol. Ok, I dont have cruise control, but I have a problem that makes it seam like I do. It doesnt happen all the time, but sometimes when I rev to 3-4 grand and shift the rpms stay there. And if Im cruising and im in the range of 3-4 grand and I let off the gas pedal it stays there. It stays there in neutral and everything. It will keep trying to get back up to 3-4 grand even when I push the brake. It will slow down but if i let off the brake it will start accelerating again. Now, If I keep on the brake pedal and hit about 1750 it will kick off. Meaning that it wont be trying to accelerate. It will go back to idle and be fine. But as soon as I rev it up just a little bit it will shoot back up to 4g. I can also get it to kick off if I push the gas pedal fast and let it go fast. Then it will kick off again and decelerate. Or if I rev past 4grand then it wont stick. Now what the hell is that? Ive been having this problem for a while now and its just pissing me off.

it may very well be your throttle cable sticking at that certain piont. you should check for kinks and stretching of the throttle cable. or atleasti would, its worth a shot.

i had cruise on my crx once too. I took it off though. I didnt like it. I dont think its rare though. I think its just from some cheap place like JCwhitney. Idk it was on my car when i bought it, and it looks just like the one in the pic by deetz.

I wasn't aware of the option of cruise control in the Crx's I knew hatches and sedans had them and was a common Canadian option...

could be your tps. i remember mine went out on me when i had a zc in my car, but it didn't stay at a certain rpm. whenever i was going about 80 and took my foot off the gas my car would continue to accelerate. pretty easy to replace your tps though...assuming that is the problem of course.

Check your throttle cable adjustment at the throttle body. Mine tends to do the same thing, and I foud that it was because the cable was hanging somehow.

Ok, Im thinking its the throttle cable. I just remembered that the last time I rebuilt my engine is when this happened. And you know how the throttle cable always gets pushed off to the side. Im thinking maybe it got bent some how. Ill have to check tomorrow and see. And I will see if I have a spare throttle cable laying around.

sedan is not a CRX

cruise is rare in a CRX, which is what the man said

It was a dealer option, not a factory option

hmmmm. I didnt see any visable kinks or bends in the throttle cable. I hope its not internaly. Ug that would suck. And I dont think my d16a6 spare throttle cable would fit.
