wondering if theres anyway i can look at a prelude adn see if its got the h22 from the looks of the
right well im new to preludes and i was looking for soem help i wanna kno if u can tell if it has the vtec h22a by looking at the body, such as gsr integras have "snowflake" rims...thanks ~joe

yes i kno those things but i mean like by the looks of the out side cause ive only been able to look online and i dotn wanna get there and find out its not vtec and the guy lied because theres no pics of the engine

I think the OP ment from the exterior. if it's a 4th gen check for leather seats for years 94-96. '93's didn't get any. On a '93 check the speedo for redline indication (wouldn't be possible on 94-96 because of their tinted dash). Bigger rotors, spoiler (L.E.D ??), and ofcourse the rear 6x9 speaker, cover, assembly. That's on a 4th gen, not sure for the 5th gens.
EDIT: All 5th gens came with a VTEC h22 motor. Hope that helps.

Also check this link out, http://www.92lude.com/prelude_specs.htm. it lists most specs for the 4th gens.

I'm going to guess that BB4 is the 4ws version of the Si.
Edit** I don't know why it just posted it again lol but I fixed it. So what is a Si 4WS?

Uhh fellows your missing the obvious way to tell if it's VTEC by looking at the body. First all gen 5's have tec so your only concern is 4g. All 4th gen VTEC preludes with have a DOHC VTEC sticker on their *** right under the prelude script insignia.

what if the sticker has been taken off? then what? most of the time there is no need to state the obvious.

Remember your dealing with a double 007'er.
But that's true it could have been scraped off. AFAIK there are no physical differences in outside appearance. Just about the only thing you can tell is if it's 92-93 or 94-96, unless only the VTEC's came with a sunroof's and spoiler 3rd brake lights. otherwise your SOL.

all preludes in the united state have sunroof's and my SI has a spoiler.

I have a 1993 Honda Prelude S and it has a spoiler... just the third brake light is in the window not the spoiler.... also a way you can tell if it's not a h22 is take a stock civic to one, if the prelude loses. it's not a h22 also preludes 4th gens game with the ....S - f22a1 Si - h23a1 Si Vtec - h22a1 .... so just watch the car move.... if it hits vtec... yea you got it.... it's a h22 haha
