painting that metal strip under the window
does this metal piece come off? between the window and door? my car is flawless other then the black paint chipping off which makes the entire thing look like ****.
to repaint, MUST you tape? looks like you'd have to remove the mirrors to get it off completely, i just wanted to ask before i tried, pried, and bent it all to hell.
thanks!
oh... it's a eg!

they guy who is painting my car told me to do this.
roll the window down.
tape up the door below that metal strip. put a good amount there (thick) and enough vertically.
then get some 80 grit sand paper and scuff it up real good to give the paint something to stick too.
then take some spray on bedliner and spray it on a roller brush and roll it on.
he has done it to a couple cars...looks good and keeps the texture like OEM.
its just an idea
i plan on doing it to mine

just pull them up and take a razor blade to chip off the rest that is peeling. Flat black looks beautiful. Just remember to sand so the paint sticks.
electrical tape ftw! that's what I have on mine haha except I have had it fly off one time at high speeds, and I just put some more tape on and its been fine ever since, scared me shitless when it happened lol
