Noobzorz to Hondas/ ecu question
Well I just bought my 1994 Prelude Si from a guy in town and all I can say is I love it. I just got out of a Mazda RX8 from financial reasons and what not so it's not quite that car, but not bad for it's age. I've worked on cars here and there, but am not familiar with these cars at all.
Anywho! On the car...
This girl has the H23 si motor, but it was installed not 5 months again. Supposedly a j-spec motor with about 60k on it. There is an AEM CAI on it. Also, I have header/exhaust on it. The tip of the exhaust is SEBRING
but I don't know the brand of header. Tokico adjustables all the way around with beaten enkei rims on it. Cheapo ebay carbon fiber hood on it sets off the dull red paint...lol. There is a B&M adjustable short shifter in it, which is nice. I bought it with the crazy bouncing idle on it thinking it was the IACV, but it was a tps. Reguardless...it was a good deal for around here. I picked it up for around 4k which is kinda pricey, but it has some things here and there so not too bad.
I just installed new Denso Plugs and wires, did a motor flush and put full synthetic in it. Other than that she runs good and what not. I do have a question for you guys already though. I am sure you'll have many from me.
I have a spoon sports chipped/programmed ecu from a 92 prelude auto, will that work in my manual prelude?
Thanks for being so helpful guys
Brandon

you would have to convert the auto ecu to a manual, other wise there will be a check engine light.
i would not recommend putting that ecu on your lude. raising the rev limit on a h23 is a no no. Your asking for touble
if you really insist look into http://www.pgmfi.org and they will show you how to convert an auto to manual ecu.

Well I guess I won't do that then, just got it with my car so I thought I would ask.
What type of motor should I build?
I want relatively around 300 - 350HP
I've heard of the h23 with the h22 head and am interested because I have the H23 already. Would it be better to go with this set up or with a whole new h22 engine and build that?

read around alot. in order to hit that goal in the easiest cheapest way you would want to boost it. its possible to reach that na but will take tons of money and time. either way it can be done but just research research and then research some more and determine exactly which route you want to go to hit those numbers.
