New Car, what to do with it?
Hey yall, this is my first time writting on this but i've been looking at it for quite a while. I got my civic SI in August, and i love it! I am just looking for anyway to add more power. I've been looking at turbos, exhausts, chips(although I cant find any), and what not, but is there anything that doesn't void the warrenty? Also anything that doesnt cost $1,000? I'd like to see what some people are doing to spice their SI's up a bit!
Thankss

First modification should be either suspension (since u seem new) I'd opt for the HFP suspension from Honda

after that i'd upgrade the tires
after THAT... INJEN CAI (cold air intake)

Might wanna first start out by using the search button on the upper right hand part of the page. Works wonders.
It's the little link that says... SEARCH
If you still have questions try these sites........

You can get most parts for under $1000 bucks easily, but they'll play some part in your warranty coverage. The Hondata reflash is tricky. I heard someone say that dealerships can't detect it, but most people say they can. Not sure on that one. If your bumper gets warped or melted from exhaust outlet then warranty won't cover that if you have aftermarket exhaust.
This should help you out regarding warranty vs. aftermarket mods.

welcome to HT
as for your warranty...
most parts will not void your warranty, but make sure w/ ur dealership.
ex. if you buy a CAI and your transmission blows, it will be covered under the warranty
if you buy a CAI and your motor hydrolocks, they will say that it was because of your CAI and there goes your warranty.
things for under $1000 are...CAI ($250), headers ($500), cat-back exhaust ($550 although i think there is some coupon out to get it cheaper), springs, etc. these could be added and shouldnt void your warranty, but always check w/ ur dealership and get it written down if possible

What Mike said. The HFP suspension is awesome and it's a Honda product. Sells retail for around $900 bones but I think you can get it cheaper. Installation is only a couple hours. Drop's the car an inch or so and really improves the handling (major difference). Make sure you got a meaty butt however, because the ride is definitely rougher.

Just to clarify.. more or less any modification done to the car that COULD cause something to mess up could void your warranty.
If you put on an exhaust.. and then something goes wrong with the exhaust on your car to say.. melt your bumper. Warranty voided.
Once it's proven that your mod caused something to go wrong, the warranty is voided on that specific incident. However, if something else goes wrong completely unrelated to the exhaust, your warranty is still good.

Oh and for the exhaust, the only exhaust I could provide you with a coupon for (and I've posted this in many threads) is the magnaflow exhaust. The website:
http://www.hottexhaust.com
the coupon code: fordtruck8 or jetta
One of the two should be active right now and it'll bring the cost to like $350 shipped.

So X you really think INJEN CAI is a good way to go for an intake? Im not trying to diss you or anything. Its just that i bought my Si in July i belive and i havnt got anything done to it but window tint. 5% all around. And i want to start fixing my ride up ya know? And i hear all these things about AEM, INJEN, and so on. And like the guy who started this i dont want to spend a grand and so on parts either. So what i hear of you and people talk highly of you. Ima take your word on this and get a INJEN CAI for my ride. Just wanted to say thanks!
honestly, a grand isn't much
Type X has spent a grand on his headlights alone...
there are a few parts that you can get under a grand (together) which will enhance your performance,, but if you're looking to get 360+ whp you're gonna shell out moneys ;]

yeah, I know a grand isn't much.. I keep asking my dad (i know lame, but hey) what he'd let me do to it, and he says since i have to keep it for 10 years she doesnt want anything that will make engine explode. so i dont think im planning on 360 whp anytime soon... my goodness though what the heck is on that car and how do the pistons not fly out??? if i were to spend more i dont see the point in just not buying an STI or something mmmm... i was telling my parents and bf about what people have put on their cars and the whole bumper melting deal and i think that scared them about any of this stuff... how frequently do things go wrong that void the warrenty?
thanks for the advice!!
thanks for the advice!!
Dang, i want to get to 360 whp! A grand isnt much to you guys huh? You guys must be BALLIN'! Really? Damn X aint playing around huh? Oh one more thing. Why Injen CAI over AEM CAI?
