when im not in gear i can move the shifter in a circle, does anybody know why?

 

Broken shift linkage, or damaged shifter. I had a similar thing happen to my 5th gen SH and it was stuck in 1st but the shift **** would move freely, i couldnt go in circles but if you broke both cables i could see that happening. look forward to a 700$ fix if you plan on doing it at the stealership.

 

i can shift fine but i just wanted to know why i got so much play in it.
