Hey guys, I've been without my SI for about 40 days now. I wrecked it pretty bad, made a thread about it back in December, and its finally nearing completion. I had some aftermarket tail lights installed, but only one was damaged during the wreck.

So I cut a deal with the body shop, and told them I would give them my stock OEM tail lights, and they would replace both with NO EXTRA CHARGES. No extra labor, none of that crap. I was even able to convince the guy to deduct the cost of a Stock tail light from the $500 deductible that I will owe.

So I call the guy today, he says the car will be ready for pick up tonight. I ask him how much I owe, and he says $500. I said wait a minute I thought we were subtracting the cost of a tail light from that. So he says hold on... comes back and says you owe $404.60. $404.60?!?!?! Tail lights aren't as cheap as $95.60!!!! You can't even find an aftermarket tail light that cheap.

So I've been trying to find some price data on a stock OEM tail light, but I haven't come across it yet. Can anyone help me so I can take some figures to this guy when I pick up my car tonight? I'm hoping I can negotiate the price down further, and if I have some supporting documentation, I'm sure I could.

Usual Price is 95 a side ( like the shop stated )
70.15 is the online price

Luckily the shop bought through the dealer... or you'd owe another 40 bux

I think I payed about $80 for mine awhile back. I was surprised they were so cheap.

Holy crap I had no idea tail lights were that cheap.... then why are all of these cheap flimsy plastic Altezzas going for 125-150 each?!?!?

This just blows my mind....

When I can find the camera, I think I might have maybe one on there before the accident. Otherwise, I'm working on some for another person, so I'll try to get some pics of those at some point.

Nomar06 from 8thcivic is doing them. He's got a thread I believe that shows his work-log. Dunno if he's still working on them or not.

 

Yup, still working on them. They got me all upset so I havent looked at them for a while. Planning on picking up Accord Coupe LED's soon and retro them into our tail's.

Maybe because suckers still buy garbage for their cars for $125-150?

btw if your going to call a shop that i post up please don't "window shop" and not buy.
