Cracked GSR block - What next?
OK, I cracked the wall on my gsr block with boost and am now going to rebuild. I don't want to put much into it as I will be selling the car after it is running. Therefore I am not going to resleeve, my friend gave me a LS block but I am wondering if you think I should build the motor doing the conversion or just buy a GSR block? It probably would be cheaper to just build the LS block but it seems like a bit of a headache. Thanks for feedback!

since your gona just sell the car i say get the ls long block and put your gsr head on it and call it a day.
or put in the ls engine and add the gsr head as part of the deal cause some people might want to build it themselves to insure quality.

I only have the LS short block with no internals. So I am planning on using the LS block with GSR pistons, rods, crank, water pump, oil pump, timing belt, oil pan and pickup. And rebuild it with new GSR rings, GSR main and rod bearings, GSR thrust washers, GSR front and rear crank seals, LS headgasket. Does anyone see a problem with what I have listed?

nope, did the same thing on my buddies ls-vtec turbo. btw you should not have cracked a sleeve with that amount of power. you were detonating

Here are a few dyno sheets from when I was tuned (Hondata S200).

I don't want to get retuned so could I just bump my fuel pressure up a few psi or back my ignition timing back a little?

looks like a boost spike in the beginning. wierd torque curve, definitely not normal. vtec cross over at 6k? I would pull 2-3 degs all over and if it was me I would riched up the afs about a point. If you are selling it then thats what I would do instead of the retune
good luck
good luck
i'm sure they'd be fine, but if you go the the sponsor Marketplace, there are people who carry the correct bearings and gaskets for your car...i would do that because you know you're getting what you need
i say just dop another gsr block. and also i have one i might be getting rid off. but yea im not a huge fan of ls/vtec just stay with a gsr block
For that amount of power you can go full LS or GSR it really doesn't matter.
Whoever tuned your car didn't do a good job at all. Close to 13.0 AFR's at peak torque and VTEC could have been set back a little. Boost control is another issue aside from the tuner, but you need to fix that too. Yes, you could pull a few degrees out (assuming it was off...maybe by a lot who knows) and you could up your fuel pressure, but that's putting a bandaid on a deep cut....it may need to be fully stiched (tuned)
.
I see you live in Kansas, maybe I can help.

Does anyone see any parts I that I have missed and will need for a rebuild?
