I have DC 4-2-1 ceramic headers and stock exhaust on my car as of now. I'm buying a 2.5" test pipe and catback. My question is... will the 2.5" test pipe bolt on to the headers (2" collector) with no problem? Just wanting to be absolutely sure, thanks!

 

They won't bolt up, on the up side this would be a great time to do the 2.5" collector mod to your DC.

 

Thanks, I'm glad I found out before I order my exhaust. There's not really a good muffler shop around here, but I can travel some if need be. Would the collector mod be as good performance and price wise compared to just getting a new header? I have my eye on Megan JDM 4-1 with 2.5" collector for $200. Even though they're inexpensive, I've heard good things about them.

 

It should be cheaper than a new header. I don't know if they have inspections in GA, so I can't vouch for a Megan passing inspections. I've heard good things about Megan as well, and stainless would be an upgrade compared to ceramic.

 

On a side note... their JDM 4-1 header (an ITR replica if I'm not mistaken) is listed for 94-01 GSR's. Now what is the length of these headers considering 94-99 and 00-01 GSR's have different lengths? or is it the length of an ITR header?

What I'm getting at is what model and year would I go on to buy a cat converter and catback for the headers? I'm trying to avoid any mods/welding.
