Default SRS light

Well i know the procedure on getting the light to go off. But why did it go on to begin with ? I dont wanna crash and have no airbags. So by just clearing the light am i just hiding the problem?

Clearing the code and retesting, is a common diagnostic procedure in the Honda Service manuals; if the light doesn't come back it means it was just a 'glitch' in the system. Also if it is a problem that only happens on "the 3rd thursday of the month but only if there is a blue moon" it is all but impossible to find/duplicate the real cause.
If it recodes then you can start to check things depending on WHAT YEAR the car is.

Well its been on there awhile probably 3 months, always on it never goes away. I have not tried to clear it though but have driven enough where the computer should have cycled and cleared it by now. It is a 1995 Accord LX 4 door auto.

The SRS lite isn't like a CEL it will not clear after it has coded.
The good news is that the 95 uses the Service Check Connector, so you should be able to get an SRS flash code, using the blue 2 pin connector.

How do we reset that SRS light?

Mine has been on for about 3 years now, I want it off finally lol

Edit, I saw how to do it, is there any other ways besides doing that paperclip method?

Will a dealer charge $40 to do this, cause it's a common problem on the RSX's as well, or is it more expensive for the accord?
