Ebay coilovers or not?
I found a set of 4 coilovers for my car on Ebay for 40 dollars. holy **** thats cheap, but i'm hearing bad things about them. my friend has a 240, it feels nice and stiff and not bouncy like i've heard. SO, should i spend the cheap *** price of 40 bucks, and if something breaks i can always sell it off to some ricers, (altho i cant really be talking since im the one buying ebay ****), and then buy some more decent brand coilovers. wats the call. (oh yeah and im poor as **** so don't even suggest expensive stuff please)
well if you want **** handling go for it the only thing those are sold for is looks to drop your car and your stock struts won't handle more than like a two and a half inch drop for very long any way and those ebay coilovers don't come with shocks. I say just hold off and save up your money and get something good.
eventually youre gonna want something better and that just means more money spent. if youre on a budget and you really want something now then i guess you can go do it. but if i were you id just save up for something better. spending money when you dont have much to spend just hurts you in the long run.

couldnt have said it better. Cheap coilovers are not a good idea either.

Do it!
Then do a review for us. I had thought about some of these before, but just chickened out. If it stiffens up the ride a bit and provides a safe, adjustable drop... then I say $40 is well worth it.
BTW: Most people who comment don't have first-hand experience with these things. Just repeating what they have heard from a guy who heard from a guy.

I had cheapass coilovers. And cheapass shocks.
Shocks were blown to all hell (check my build thread for a video...) because of the drop, and because they were cheap.
The ride was horrible. I have back problems, and driving my car for more than an hour was just asking for trouble. Treated me worse than a crotch rocket.
But it looked cool
When I upgraded, I just held out until I found a good deal on something I wanted. I ended up getting H&R "sport" lowering springs (full length springs, better ride) and adjustable Koni yellows all for $325.
If I were to buy all that cheap crap that was on my car again, it would cost me about $225.
What are you looking for? Just a drop? Pick up some lowering springs, keep em full length, and only drop 1.8 inches or so, so you can run your stock shocks.
IMO coilovers suck on the street.
Edit: my setup was exactly the same as the poster two posts up. KYB GR2's and Ebay coilovers (actually I believe they were "dropzone", not that it matters any)

DON'T BUY THEM I HAD THEM FOR EF_SEDAN AND I REGRET BUYING THEM IT'S BETTER TO GET FOR THE SAME PRICE LOWERING SPRING FROM EBAY THE STORE IS CALLED SPRING TECH
Put those $40 coil-overs on a 91 hatch with an LS swap (friend's car) a few years back. He sold me his eibach sportlines for my hatch because he wanted to go lower. He went lower, but it rode like hell. All of his hardware rusted, they aren't adjustable anymore (because of that) and they destroyed his struts. He's been trying to buy the eibachs back ever since.

i had ebay coilovers like the ones you wanna purchase and they SUCK! Save a little more money and get yourself some springs like i did you'll be happier.
I bought ebay coilovers, $4.99 plus shipping $29.00
Because I couldn't find springs for my wagon, all of them say EXCEPT wagon.
plus my wallet is empty

Well I have a set on my EX full interior with new kyb's and it handles pretty well i might say and the ride's alright, still feel's like your on a dirt road on the street.
i got some matrix coil over sleeves( im sure came from ebay.). and its bouncy cause my struts are blown but its nothing you cant handle if you dont have any problems. but im ordering my kyb gr2 to smooth the ride out some. if you get them plan on getting struts real soon.

Not really. There were a set on my car when i bought it and my friend has a set too. Mine got replaced quickly and my friend has them on the list as the next thing to do.
Don't bother, i'd rather have stock suspension than that stuff. You'll cringe and brace for impact at the sight of a crack in the road... not kidding.

you are better off with just getting some decent brand springs than those ebay coilovers.
Alot of those are not designed with the proper spring rate. Most of them dont even tell you which is for the front and which is for the rear. They are all one size and the ride will be crap. I did a favor for some people who worked next to our shop and I installed the coilovers they bought from ebay. man the ride was like **** and I told them that those you cant expect much from those cheap coilovers.
save up for something else.
