Default what rods to use?

i'm about to order a set of rods for my build, but i've been told that if i use type-r pistons, i cant use aftermarket forged rods. i know i've seen people run itr pistons with aftermarket rods on here before.

i know you have to shave the ls rods to fit itr pistons, but is there a aftermarket connecting rod out there that i wont have to shave?

my build is a ls/vtec, b18a1 block and crank and itr pistons, ??????rods?????

All motor you'll want I beams, I would suggest Manley they have fully floating wrist pins, they should work. Or the Probe I beams, I have used both on stock pr3 pistons in a ls/v set-up!!

why not just shave the ls rods? it aint much to do from a machine shop only like 1 mm each side or some **** like that

you could use the type-r rods but would need the type-r crank to,,

or maybe a gsr crankshaft with type-r rods would work??

Like I said in my post earlier go with an I beam rod they are much lighter and strong enough for 10k rpm.

most aftermarket rods take floating wrist pins which the oem rods do not. you have to make the oem piston to accept floating pins to make use of the aftermarket rods with oem pistons.

You should check out JGEnginedynamics. They have a nice set I beam rods for an LS. If you call them up the guy (Javier) that works there is very knowlegable and will be able to give you advice on what to do.

I don't know about other sets but I know that the ones JGE sells need to be sent to a machine shop to be clearenced for the wrist pins (depends on your build/HP goal).
