00-04 S2000 hard decision?!?
between the 00-01 is the car wider then the 02-03, i kno theres a few cosmetic differences, and the glass convertible, but more concerned on the car's stance, I keep hearing the 02-03 are much wider, can anyone clarify? thanks!
thanks for the clarification, other then the rear glass of the soft top, what are they other differences? im in the market for an S2k coming from a dc2 gsr, id be more concerned of the obvious changes then the least obvious.

The suspension got softer in 02, apparently. The car recieved a clock in 01. It recieved tweeters in the doors in 02. Besides that, they're pretty much the same. If you want an S2000 in totally RAW form, and you're a fairly confident driver an 00-01 is your car. If you want slightly softer, but dont wanna go over to the totally soft ap2 side, then 02-03 is a great choice. You cant really go wrong from 00-03, though...AP1s were awesome. I suggest getting to know the car on a road course, though. Dont try any shady maneuvers on the street.
thanks for the info, Im coming from an dc2 gsr, with bolt ons, i/h/e, now if i were to get an ap1 and add bolt ons how would it compare from a stand point straight line comparison to the dc2 gsr, cuz i kno for a fact the AP1 will surely take the dc2 on the track all day. How much of a difference should I expect from the two as for a daily driven vehicle it won't be tracked or taken on any course, strictly daily driven.

Leave it stock. It makes more than enough power for daily driving. I/H/E setups can net some decent gains, somtimes losses...like anywhere from -4 - +10hp put together for the cheap stuff, and like +10 - +20Hp put together for the expensive stuff. When i say cheap, i mean like $300-650 each item and when i say expensive, i mean $1500-2000 each item. However...AEM CAI and V2 intakes are around $300, and they make some pretty damn good power. It makes great power stock, though. I'd just leave it alone. lol yeah and the S2K embarasses the DC2 on a road course. There was a guy at road america with R comps and a rollcage, and coilovers (im sure there was more, im just naming the obvious stuff). My S was stock. There was no question on who was the dominant male that day. Him. But I did kick his *** all over the track
Plus, i have both cars. The DC2 handles great, even stock. But there's absolutely no contest. You'll have a ton more fun with the S2000. good choice. Just dont treat it like an Integra/civic.
