What transmission fluid should I use Since the tranny has an LSD? Thanks

i went to the honda dealer to buy some Honda manual transmission fluid. they told me to "save my money and use Valvoline 10W-30 like all of our mechanics do." Direct quote from the Honda parts guy.

 

I used to work for Honda. Buy Honda fluid, that is what the techs use on their own cars. For the people that pay to have their car serviced, sometimes they use oil. Other stuff will make them shift slow sometimes.

 

Use Honda MTF.

Some LSD will still make noise with just Honda Fluid....You can also buy a LSD additive from a parts store this will mkae the LSD last longer and not make as mich nosie. My g-friends dad owns a tranny shop and works on them all day and this is what he told me to use.

I used 20w-50 when i had my Y1 LSD tranny... the oil is alot thicker so its kinda hard to shift for like the first week but then the shifts are alot smoother....
