Primedia buys Modified Magazine...
Looking into how this will effect the Sport Compact industry...

My question would be... is Primedia still sour at Vision, and they'll still continue to boycott coverage of their events, so now Modified wont cover HIN?
also... Modified seemed to be one of the few still covering all of the NHRA events, will this get Primedia back in to drag racing coverage again???
Is Jason going to get the Primedia brass to see the NHRA light....

Well there either trying the Starbucks/Barnie's tactic where they buy out the somewhat competition then just shut it down, or there using Modified's strong impact they have now on the sport compact community and revamp there basically useless magazine's they already have.
Who knows...But I do feel this, Modified wont be the same that is was before at least for drag racing coverage that is.

Nah, he's been involved with publishing way too much. He loves his new job right now, I don't think he'd change it for anything.

its for sure a different feel, and i never thought the day would come. ive been with Modified since the very first day and plan on being here for some time also.
as for the drag racing coverage, i have been one of the few that has always pushed for the racing coverage! and i will do my best to make sure that we keep it in. by the way things sound for now its full steam ahead, and things wont change.....at least for now.

I commend you Stu for pushing as hard as you did to keep the drag racing coverage. I know it sometimes wasn't easy for you. My only complaint, was that you never pushed hard enough for the Canadian series. The NCRA, and CSCS busted their collective butts to make our small series as good as they could be, and Modified never once covered any of them.

Jason, with your expertice and understanding, how much would it cost to launch a magazine like they are talking about? Not that I have the money to put out, im just curious... never really thought about what it takes.
