B18C5 Swap, Driveshaft Question
Hey everyone,
I'm getting a 98 Integra Type R motor from japan and it comes with the 98 Driveshafts. Now, I have a 1990 honda CRX.
I've talked to some people and they say that the 98 driveshafts won't fit the stock CRX hubs since they are too small. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Some people have told me to switch to a 5 bolt hub, others have said to switch to an EG civic hub (so it's stil 4 bolts). What do you guys think?
Thanks
Jon

You'll need to switch axles. The JDM ITR axles have a 36mm spline instead of 32mm. Just source a set of USDM Integra axles and you'll be good to go, no need to do all the hassle of 5-lug.

it doesnt matter, either will work.

Alright... so I need to get my hands on some USDM integra drive shafts... or i can get the ends changed at some shop to a 32mm end...
would anyone recommend getting the ends changed to a 32mm?

I'm going to guess I can switch the ends myself.. otherwise everyone would be doing it right?
It would seem like i've got two options.
1) I bring the 98 driveshafts to a shop like Teknotik and have them change the ends for me for around 200 bucks
OR
2) Buy new integra driveshafts as you guys have suggested.
If I do the #1 way, Supposingly those driveshafts are stronger since they're JDM, but then if i get integra driveshafts i'll be able to get like 00 integra driveshafts which are "newer" and maybe better. What do you guys think?
