i really want a set of del sol seats in my car, but i cant seam to find any anywhere for a good price that is in good condition, there is one in a junk yard near me, but its a passenger side seat, ?? would it still work in my EK ??

 

i have made alot of seats work in my EK ... non will direcly bolt on but stock EK seats but with slight modifications u can make it work ... now what i mean by modifying is that u might need extra bolds , some kind of metal bracket that u can rebend to the angles of your bolt pattern and drilling holes in those metal brackets you make to match the bolt sizes .... it's really not hard at all ... the only real problem you might have is the seat belt buckle .... but putting a harness in your car will get rid of that problem

 

i know it will work, just with alot of modification, im just wondering if it would be somewhat easy, not as easy as putting a driver in the driver side, but you get the general idea

other wise if i think this might take too much time and modification, which i can do pretty good, since i work in a metal shop, its just finding the time to do it, the other part about the seat that i found is that it has a green stripe, which wouldnt look the best in my car, but maybe i could find a cover for it or somehow get it reapulstered(sp?)

if i dont think that will work i found some "Spoon" replica seats on eBay for a decent price, but ill take another look at the del sol seat in the junk yard and how much they want for it, then ill probably make my decision from there

If my memory serves me correctly, you can swap seat pans and get a passenger seat to become a driver's side seat. There's a writeup on Del Sol seats into an EK, I believe it's in the FAQ section. You might be able to get by with a pan swap.

 

yeah, i have seen that, but the pics expired or he took them off that server, pics really help me alot, but i probably could do it, it doenst sound to hard, for me at least, just alot of time i dont exactly have right now

 

if you swap your driver side rails (like you HAVE to) that seat can be driver or passanger....I know because I have the seats from my sol in my EG hatch and the rails had to be swapped...

 

the only thing im really woried about if i do get it and try to swap it over is if the reclining lever will be twards the middle of the car, but im not sure, becuase i have never done any seat swaping, if anybody has ever ran into this problem where they had to retrofit their passenger side seat into the driver side, please post!

 

i dont see a problem, make custom brakets etc etc mod it a litttle

 

thats the problem, i dont want to have to do alot of custom work just to make it fit, becuase its also not going to look verry good with a green stripe down the middle in a car that has absolutly no green in it and still the stock passenger side seat

 

you put YOUR rails from your current seats on there...it is simple and easy

not that easy when you put a passenger side seat in the drivers side, read the whole post dumb ***! i think i might end up geting some Recarro replicas in the market place, thanks for all your help guys

 

ohh sounds like too much of a hassle..juss get them recaro replicas
