find an accessory fuse in the fuse box under the dash, there may be an empty one, or one to tap into.

using a circuit tester find one which has power with the key in the on and accessory position and none with the car off, then wire it up

no
the batt lead goes to a wire that is hot all the time
the best place is to the constant lead (yellow on an aftermarket deck)
wherever it goes, make sure you put an inline fuse within 18 inches of the connection.

Now im the one that sounds the stupidest on this thread. Listen to boyracer on this one. Somewhere between reading that you had a changer and assuming you were stock decking it (i just did this last week for a friend and tapping his fuse box was very clean and simple) i was figuring the easiest way to get you power without having to cut or splice stock wiring at the harness and I got dip shitted for a sec and switched my brain to accessory instead of constant. Yes the battery is to be constant and I would go with my plan at the fuse box but just look for a lead which is on all the time with the car off. If you have already swapped decks and have knowledge of where the yellow wire is, go 100% boyracer and tap it.

SORRY FOR THE BRAIN FART
