Default pistons work w\ cams

Im planing to start moding my b16. If i use civic typ R pistons, would that be enough compression to run stage two cams with a new valve train?

Stage 2 is very vague, especially since this isn't Gran Turismo. The problem with CTR pistons is that they really break up the flame wave, hell look at that mountain

seeing how this is hondatech im guessing he means blox/skunk2/crower stage 2 type cams..

also using the b16b pistons in a standard b16a isnt going to raise the compression by much,,you might get like 10.5:1 - 10.8:1..not really engough to get the potential out of the stage 2 cams,,you'd be better off with some stage1 or ctr cams...

if i get stage one cams, would i be able to leave the orgianall pistons in my car? I havent boughten any pistons or cams yet so i have a lot of room to make adjustments to my plan.

Yeah sure, and you can leave the stock valvetrain as well. Just do some minor porting on the intake and exhaust side, get new valve stem seals, maybe new valves if yours are bad..clean the head, get it resuraced,etc...

you dont want to go to crazy with only stage 1 cams and stock comression ratio otherwise you'll loose power ..you need to build it so everything works together,,stage 1 cams, stock valvetrain means very minor porting..maybe get the throttle body bored out ,oem type-r intake manifold or blox,,a good 4-1 header (hard to pick out headers)..
