Default are ls plug wires sufficient for a b16?

is it ok to run b18 ls plug wires on a b16. i have the wires from my old da on my b16 and im not sure if its sufficient spark. i have had problem twice with the car cutting off in mid take off around 4500 to 5000 rpm's. the motor would rev out but just pull back and not rev any higher. so i stopped and then took off again and it seemed fine. i think the last time i checked the spark it wasn't blue like its supposed to be. no cel pops up when this happens.

ls wires would be to short I imagine. I am using B16 wires on my ls and they are too tall and wobble while teh engine runs...

I doubt there is any difference in teh wire itself other than length. You have LS wires on your B16? I'm suprised they fit....

well they fit fine. the question is if an orange spark color is bad. dizzy is the one it came with and plugs are new. are you guys just guessing or do you really know?

and why wouldnt they fit? they are both b series engines. they are almost identicle besides the size of the pistons and it has vtec. all the mounts are the same for when i had it in my da before.

Orange spark, the only reason the color of the spark would change would be the temperature of the excited air caused by the spark, and orange < Blue on the temperature scale...check your distributor.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by tougetuned_ef &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">and why wouldnt they fit? they are both b series engines. they are almost identicle besides the size of the pistons and it has vtec. all the mounts are the same for when i had it in my da before.</TD></TR></TABLE>

well the head is taller..so many people would think that means the ls plug wires would be to short and vice versa b16 wires in an ls....

and the pistons are the same size bore..

LOL, I'm telling you fact. I used wires off of my old B16 on my LS and they are too tall. There should be no difference in the composition of the wire (assuming you have OEM). I think they only time wires are different is when you are talking about the Hype R motor. Supposedly they are thicker, but I have never seen the need to waste money on them.

right, you used b16 wires on an ls, they were too long and dont seal with the valvecover (no biggie)

Now, the OP is asking about the other way around (ls wires on a b16) they will bee to short, and will not come down onto the male end of the sparkplug far enough (if at all).

the short answer, not likely.

They fit, I am running LS MSD wires on my B16 head with no problems. They do need to be pushed a bit farther in though.
If I had the choice I would get the proper wires though.
