Radiator leak every year
Hi,
This is the third time its happening to me. First it happened in nov 2002 (@79K) and i replaced with a new radiator + thermostat. In nov 2005(@ 130k), it again happened, the radiator started leaking from the top rim and i replaced it with an aftermarket one from a auto recyclery. but now, in feb 2007 (155k), it started again. I am fed up of this thing. what might be the problem? I live in wisonsin and its chilling cold out these days. -5 degree F. please suggest if there is something i am missing. How much does a total metal radiator cost? is it a denso or showa on an integra 94 ls (5 speed). Is anyone selling a cheap radiator ?
thanks in advance.

go with an aluminum rad.The OE ones are known to have flaws and I'm sure the OE replacements do also.
When I had my Teg I bought a Fluidyne, but you don't need to go that extreme.
As stated above, the plastic end tanks on the OE radiators are notorious for failing.
The only way to avoid it permanently is to replace it with a radiator that has all-metal construction.
The first brands that come to my mind are Koyo, Fluidyne and C&R.
Good hunting.

Mine did it too, and I bought a full-aluminum one off radiator barn for $130 or $140 shipped, I forgot the exact amount. It's a little thicker than a stock one, maybe a tiny bit wider, and is painted black to look like stock.

So you are saying the all aluminium radiator costs around 160$ from radiatorbarn.com and is reliable. it wont leak in future. Will the stock fans fit on the aluminium radiator ? Rite now with the bitter cold here, i am just going to put some stop leak for the time being, and wait for the weather to get warmer to put on the new radiator. I checked with the dealer, he asks 280 $ for aftermarket radiator + 230$ in labor & parts.
~Thanks guys.
