I hear a whirl type of sound, had my mechanic eval the rest of the car to see if it might be comming from another area, mechanic feels its comming from the tranny ?

I guess my main question is ? what possble scenerios would cause the tranny to make a whirl type of noise ?

manual? auto?

check the torque on the shalf nut, some honda(s2k) are know for making noise because honda forgot to torque them from the factory, so abunch of the older s2k is running around with some clicky, whirling noise.

the other place to check is the bearing itself.


if you have time take out the shaft and see if the nose stops

The transmission is Automaitic.
I will forward your f.y.i. and anyone elses to the mechanics while car is still in the shop being serviced for other things.
