Well ofcourse the clock is going to be lighter if you turn your lights on during the day, I don't know why your tach/mph would fade aswell...are they the EL gauges or the normal ones?

That's normal, even if you have turn on the dimmer full. Clock and tacho are always dimming when you turn on your lights

Why do you need to drive round with your lights on during the day?

I like to drive with the corner lights on too.
What year is your car? Is the mileage on the bottom right or inside the RPM gauge?

Ok I know what you mean now...that the gauges don't glow green/blue, they are normal white, once it gets darker outside or you're under a shade it will glow, unless you have the EL gauges that came with 94-96 they won't glow green during the day even if the lights are on.
