How to install a p28 spoon chip.
hello, well so my friend let me have his spoon chip i dont know where he got it from but he say's its goog, he gave it to me cuz he's running a jun chip on hes and well we're pretty cool so he let me have it. it say's that the vtec craks at 5500 rpm's so im looking forward to that but i dont know how to install it, can n'e one help? all i have is the chip and ecu nothing else nothinh, nada........ please what can i do, or what else do i need. thanx.
Best advice, throw it away. With you running a bone stock car you don't need anything for fuel managment. Honda took care of all that at the factory. When you start changing things (an intake, cheap header and muffler don't qualify as changing things) then get it tuned. Do not use the chip.
in short regardless of a built motor or stock motor, don't use it.

man are you guy's serious? my friend let meuse his ecu yestaerday, he has a jun chip in it and it run's way better than my ecu..! my car pulled like a mosnter but i guess it's not a good thing. should i just get the hondata s200 for my p28? i have an intake, race headers, and 2'25 inch exahust pipe, and a skunk 2 intake manifold waiting to be installed. im putting none of this on till i get something done on my ecu cuz my obd2 ecu is stupid. thanx.

Phearable is good..... I'm assuming you have a 2000 gsr. If this is the case, you'll need the obd2B-1 conversion harness, and an obd1 ecu. In order to chip your p28 ecu, you'll need to solder in a 28pin socket, 74hc373 rom, a resistor and a jumper (capacitors are optional). I'd wait to install your skunk2 IM first before running the chipped ecu since I'm assuming it's not programmed to run your iabs in the stock manifold.
