Yeah I Just bought a Honda Accord the other day. And I wanna swap a F22A into it. And I heard it is possible. Now I was wondering, If I can swap it in with a A20A Manual transmission?

The Car I bought, is burning oil badly, Thats why I wanna swap it with a turbo Rebuild Engine. But I just dont have the money for a manual transmission. So i wondering If I can use the old A20A Engine with the transmission, and swap the F22a into it with the old school manual tranny.

I don't know much at all about the 89 Accord but I wouldn't think the F22A would be a direct swap in the least. You say you heard it's possible, but what did they say is need to make this swap work? Seems like there is a lot of work that would need to be done. Even if you get a manual F series tranny, aren't the 89 Accords rod linkage whereas the 90+ is cable linkage so you would have to get the shifter assembly and all that.

I've read of people doing B series swaps into that year Accord but I've also read that the company that made the motor mounts is no longer in business or is no longer making the mounts, can't quite remember which it is.

 

I've never heard of a F22 fitting in a 86-89 Accord.

I remember B16 swaps for the car, but that was about 6 years ago.

The most recent swap I've seen for that Accord is the JDM B20A. It's supposed to be pretty straight forward and it's 160hp/140lb-ft torque.
