head build
Whats up guys! I just got some money together and I'm ready for a little turbo action.. The car is a 95 ls and its a daily driver. I'm not looking for big numbers just want it to be reliable. I bought another head so I can start building it up and this is what I came up with..
rebuild
titanium valves springs and retainers
crower 403 cams
cam gears
skunk2 intake manifold
Does that sound like a good setup? Also if I'm gonna do all that should I go ahead and get my head port and polished? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If your planning on tweaking out the engine with either NA or FI then yes a port and polish would be a good choice. The reason is to flow more air through the head to get more power.
Since you said your planning on boosting air flow is important. Make sure to ask questions before letting a shop have your head. Make sure they have worked with a honda head before. Bigger isn't always better. Ask if they do flow bench testing to prove there work is beneficial.
I have a 98gsr with a built head.
I went with...
Supertech valves
" " springs
" " retainers
custom ground magnese valve guides
honda oem valve seals and misc gaskets that came in the top end rebuild kit.
you have a choice of either a flat or dished valve set-up. Dished will lower your compression a lil. But if you boosting that isn't a bad idea.
If the machinist can't explain what they want to do to the head of you engine, then they should be trusted with your project. The machinist is there for customer service since you are paying for the job. Ask them what the average turn around time is.
