I've seen a few Fits on here with the red Honda emblem on their cars. Can anyone point me in the right direction towards finding these genuine Honda parts?

This is not always true. You just have to see what kind of people you are dealing with. There are some reputable sellers on Ebay.

Yes this was a serious ? I was told that the badges are slighty different in 02-03 than in 04-05. I found out that it was 02-03 badges that work best on the Fit (for future reference)
