looking to finance a civic coupe...
i'm looking to finance a coupe and i'm wondering what are the differences between modding an auto vs. a manual. can i do all the same things or am i limited to certain things such as i/h/e? thx in advance
Well since your considering an auto I assume your not looking to purchase an Si. The transmission type doesnt really affect your i/h/e mods, but your going to loose some of that "quickness" going with an auto vs manual.
i was looking at the si but am considering one of the cheaper models(ex, dx, and so on). i would love to get manual but around my area it would be a pain and during the holidays its hardcore stop and go traffic. nothing final yet but i don't want my options for aftermarket performance to be limited to just a few things as opposed to the support for manuals.
edit: i would def. get an si for the right price...but dealers around here like to go slightly above msrp.

Well I say go with what works best for you, and if it's an auto then you should do it.
As far as performance goes the auto will be a restriction over a manual but it will not limit the amount of basic mods you can add to the car. That is all the same for manual or auto.

1 or 2 weeks dictates what kind of car you are considering buying?
Live a little..get a bright red Si!

true...i'm hoping to get between $5.5k-$6k by the end of june for the down payment if not more and would love to get payments below $300 a month. if i could do that with an si i would love to b/c the car has great potential. so we will see what happens. manual is def more fun to drive!

As an approximation of monthly payments on a sixty month loan with average interest rates you can look at spending about $20/mo for every thousand dollars you finance.

PS: Remember that some of the money you put down will go towards paying TTL so you won't be able to deduct as much from the purchase price.

Take it from me, who bought an LX when I wanted some kind of performance.
DON'T get a DX/LX/EX if you want performance. Just save yourself a LOT of modding money and get an SI, because the cost of getting an R18 to have any performance to it, will outcost the cost of an SI in the end.
