Turbo Questions
I just had a couple of random questions that have been on my mind. Anyone with knowledge on anything your help would be appreciated.
1. I recently read that a fuel return line sends unused fuel back to the tank. I also heard that it basically is a reservoir that stores fuel so your lines dont dry out at WOT, is it both?
2. A turbo with an internal wastegate, can it be adjusted, not just up but down. I was thinking about a slightly big turbo but im not ready for all the power yet?
3. While observing some turbo kits I noticed some have an extra pipe on the exhaust manifold for the turbo and other it appears all of the exhaust is sent through the turbo. I was just curious as to the performance differences.
4. Would a fuel pressure regulator work as a cheap way to use a turbo with the stock d17a2 fuel systems?
5.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-05...spagenameZWDVW
Not sure if that link will work but if it does you will see a turbo kit for a d17 for $1000. Does anyone know of any reasons why this would not be a bargain.

If I am not mistaken it just returns back to the tank and as for a fuel pressure regulator I don't think it will actually work on the stock d17a2 fuel system without bypassing our in tank regulator. And as for my personal opinion on turbo size I would say on a d17 setup go with a smaller turbo spools quicker and when you want more just crank up the boost on your wastegate. If you want you can the the forced induction forum I have a post of the set up I'm building its under "D17a2 turbo project" price tag right now is around $2,200 DIY

^ thats the best advice any1 can give.
And no u cant use a fuel pressure regulator. That is what having return fuel systems do away with.

i think you can adjust the wastegate iether way depending on the stiffness of the spring in it
if you use kpro, you can use boost by gear 5lbs in 1st gear etc. for traction issues
i would highly recommend not going with any ebay stuff

Only the EP3 came with a K-series engine, which wouldn't be in this forum to begin with. It'd be in the DC5 RSX/Civic EP3 forum.

Being able to adjust boost by gear sounds like a very interesting feature. I definitely want a EMS but the prices are pretty depressing. What r the major setbacks of a piggyback as compared to stand alone. Any info on the turbo manifold question would also help. thanks

they both have drawbacks, the ems is GREAT for tuning, but disables all your emissions devices including the check engine light and several other obd2 features. piggy backs allow you to retain all of that, but struggle with partial throttle boost because any changes it tries to make, the stock ecu compensates and pulls fuel where the piggy back tries to add it. but hands down the ems alone would yield great results. and i agree with everyone here, you can buy name brand components on ebay when you find a good deal, but those 'kits' are more trouble than it's worth.
