Default So I have a 97 civic, and I have a few questions regarding it.

Firstly, it seems to be jerky when switching gears, it is an automatic by the way, and this guy told me he seems to think that it is just the engine/motor mounts need to be replaced. Does that seem legitimate?

Also, when it is after dark, my led lights on the control panel are not on so I cannot see how fast I am going, which is irritating.

Anyway, thanks for the help and advice in advance, I really know quite little about automobiles.

For the lights on your dash, check your fuses and check the bulbs in the cluster. I don't know much about engines so I don't know if the motor mounts would need to be replaced, but sounds fishy to me. I would get a few opinions on it, seems like the tranny may be going bad. But thats only my opinion, and as I said before I don't know much about engines.

honda automatic trannies were not the best out there, it could be your tranny.

It might be your mounts too, but that would cause more problems than a jerky feeling too. You can check your mounts easily, just look under the hood and find the places that your engine is attached to the chassis. There is a rubber piece that keeps vibrations and the like from your engine from transferring to the car. If that rubber piece looks old or torn, then you may need to replace it.
