Default Heater Heat Problem

Hello,

I have a 1992 Accord LX with about 290-300K on it. The heat won't blow hot unless the engine it at some kind of RPM (driving). When driving, the heat is very nice.

I am not going to take the heater core out, but I was wondering if there is anything else that I can do. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Sounds like it could be a stuck-open thermostat. How does the temperature gauge behave?

^ Most likely a stuck open thermostat.. I had the same problem and a new t-stat fixed it...

Thermostat is working fine. Heat guage is fine (at the same level it is always at) and the cooling system is working properly - it waits to open and then floods the radiator with hot water. I was wondering if it could be a somewhat clogged up heater coil and if there was any junk that you could run through it to unclog it.

This is not really that big of a deal since I am almost always moving, but it is somewhat of a pain when I am stuck in traffic.
