I really should learn how to degree cams
I put in my skunk2 stage 1s the other night replacing my GSRs. I set my GSR cams at 17-17.5BTDC base timing and when I dropped in the S2/1s and checked the timing according to the tech manual (warmed up, jumper bridged at idle) the timing had jumped about 2 degrees past the 18 mark. I had to retard to bring it back to 18. I marked my distributor across the cam cap at 16 a while ago so I know where stock is. I am using stock cam gears right now. The belt is new and was set up properly on the GSR cams. I noticed that the tdc mark on the CP when I indexed the S2/1 cams was ahead
@ 2-3 degrees. anybody experience this before? The primaries do feel like they
are advanced compared to stock cams based on previous experience.
