Default need your opinion

hello people. well i haven't been on honda-tech in a while cause i "left" the import scene for awhile. (my gsr was stolen ) so for the past year and a half i have been driving a lifted 2005 F150 4x4. dont get me wrong its a blast to drive that beast, but lately i been slowly getting back to the honda scene. i acquired my bratha's 2000 civic ex coupe. its has some terrible lookin 18s on it, so thats the first thing im getting swapped out. i don't know what style wheel i want yet, but i already decided on 2 size options 15x7 or 16x7. let me know ur opinions. thank you for your time.

i would go to 17x7 because it gives less rubber to deal with and if u end up with a lot of power u will need the slightly larger rims to save that rubber from leaving the rim at take off but its also a look thing too they look just slightly better then 16s or 15s. thats my personal opinion but i'm a east coast dude and we like bigger rims and skinnier tires for show but as long as its done right it doesn't hurt the go either.

um...less rubber = less traction at take off. and 17s are way too big. i mean, if you wanna show car your **** then fine go with 17s (and if you wanna get jacked).

i recomend a good old 14 inch honda hx wheel. not too hard to find and they can be painted all sorts of differant ways.

good luck with whatever you decide

You can use wider tires and more rubber equals more tire to have roll on you in a corner thats why I go with 17x7.5 because then I have good take of traction and great grip in corners it just depends on what you plan on doing with the corner

17's are way too big for a civic.
Too heavy is the only reason I'd need not to roll on them.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Pr0ject93hb &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">um...less rubber = less traction at take off. and 17s are way too big. i mean, if you wanna show car your **** then fine go with 17s (and if you wanna get jacked).

Good idea with the HX wheels.
Here in the West, I think it goes 15 inch for track/drag purposes and 16's would be ideal for show. Thats just my opinon because 17's are huge even on integras.

I went from 17's to 15x7 and I love 'em. A much smoother and softer ride and personally I just like the look better.

get some steelies and work on wheels when your car is faster. then when it is fast and u have the steelies u get to like do an invisible bitch slap in someones face when u race them. i have yet to do this invisible bitch slap, but i am living only for that day considering i have never won a race in my life yet.(17 years old, and the long gears and no vtec of a d16y7 do not help) soon to be boosted though so stay tuned.

You wanna talk huge rims? There are three separate civics where I live that have 19" chrome rims. Now tell me those aren't heavy lol

Go with some 15" OEM 7-spoke SI rims... I love those things!

anyway, i would def. go with the 16's cuz 15's on a 6th gen look extra small and kinda goofy. .

16's are either hard to find in many styles or real exspensive because big people like volk and rota makes them. I search for a month while saving up on the side for rims, ended up with 16s. still has pently of rubber rides almost as smooth as my stock stealies.
