Default AFTERMARKET HEADER CLEARANCE

i'm in the market for some aftermarket headers. my problem is i'm not sure which ones have good ground clearance. i'm looking for an "oem" type fit, where it tucks neatly beneath the oil pan. that's actually my main concern.

what kind of header are you guys running? good clearance? fits good? any pics?

btw, i'm referring to 94-99 GS-R headers.

i've searched and looked at the integra FAQ already. not really enough info.

the jdm 4-1 does hang down really low. If you ask everyone to post pics of the bottom of their header, you'll see that if the car is lowered, then probably 65% of them are dented. Since your looking for an "oem fit", then it sounds like the dc sport, comptech, greddy type of header would be ideal for you.

thanks alot for all the input everybody. from what i seen in pics so far the high price name brand headers have a nice "tuck" (eg: toda, spoon, mugen, jdm itr, comptech, smsp, rs-r). actually, my price range right now is no more than 300 bucks for a header.

get yourself a 4-2-1 header from whatever company you like. these typically have better ground clearance than 4-1's. i have a dc 4-2-1 on my b18c1 and it tucks nicely up against the oilpan.

if you get a jdm itr 4-1 a skid plate is available to prevent denting

Agreed. I replaced my old 4-1 (very dented) with a Neuspeed 4-2-1 and it runs nice and close to the oil pan. I probably gained at least 2" of ground clearance.

really? cause i had a EJ ls/vtec (B18B block, B18C head) with the greddy 4-2-1 setup. it hung right below the oil pan. i used to hate looking at my car from afar cause you could see the header hanging way low.

Good job, your posts were of no help at the least,
if he said he wanted to Scrape, then he would of wanted some 4-1 maybe..

If you can't read , and post something completely opposite of what the OP wants,
then what is the point of even posting at all??

Ok I took some pics this morning just for clarification. Here is an older pic of my gsr, dropped on H&R race springs. This is why my last 4-1 header was dented badly.

I don't have previous pics with my old header. But ground clearance with the old 4-1 was similar to the pic that was posted above. Here is the current Neuspeed 4-2-1

I switched to the 4-2-1 strictly because of the clearance issue. I am very happy with this set-up, no issues with scraping at all. I just stated Neuspeed because that is the brand I got, but you should be fine with any 4-2-1 header ie: DC, greddy, etc.

Edelbrock 4-2-1. Decent header for the price. Got mine from summit racing for $164
