How many of you have sponsors??????
I can't keep spending $$$ like this after I get my turbo kit. Just wondering what kind of sponsorships you all have. I need to get a really good one. I am even willing to track only my car.

takes alot more than willingness nowadays... u have to be willing as well as being fast and at the same time being able to "give" to whoever is giving to to u

(actually, he's not really a sponsor, but whenever something breaks, he's the one who ends up paying for repairs (50-100%, depending on how "rich" i am at the time), coz if he doesn't do it, then I don't have a car to drive, and it inconveniences him.)

I just actually got a sponsorship from this company called rotora www.rotora.com . Honestly, from what they told me and what it actually is, sponsorships are completely different than what most think.
For instance, 90% of sponsorships are not full freebie type things. They won't give you stuff for free unless you car is like LJ Garcia level and exposure honestly. Most of the time its just percentages off which isn't too bad of a deal in all honesty. They usually ask you to sport 1-2 decals on your car which isn't too bad and attend the normal 5-10 shows a year and be able to describe and sell their product as if you were their salesman.
Nothing is for free in this industry and with sponsorships come yearly contracts and some hardcore things to consider. If you run with a competitiors product and they see that, they can chrage you full price cause you usually have ot give your credit card number and full info. If you don't show at a show that you say you are they could charge you full price, etc etc. These people usually aren't out to play so if you wanna play the sponsorship game you gotta be responsible and do what you say and present yourself in a manner better than the rest.
To get one you gotta represent and think of all relationships you make with the companies as professional business relationships. You aren't talkin to your momma so talk with respect and not with a ghetto accent. This can alllll be avoided I'm sure if you know the right people and all that but truthfully all of us don't know the right people.
But that's my experiences so far and I'm sure i'll have some more coming up as I'm currently putting together a package to appy for: apex-i, venom, level 10, bomex, racing hart, and aem. Yeah it sounds impossible but if you knew how hard I work for things it doesn't seem so out of reach.
