stock car seat weight?
my sedan has a b16a2 motor
I am thinking about buying 2 sparco seats 7,6kilos each(16lbs) and if a stock seat is 20-30lbs it is not worth the money...are you sure about it?I thought they were more than 45-50lbs

They function more than as a weight savings- they hold your *** in place around the corners.

well actually that is their primary purpose but for me it isnt.I go to the track once a year and the oem semi-bucket seats are very good for the use that I want them for...I would only change them for the weight but as I see it know I does not worth the money...42lbs+42lbs(oem seats with rails)=84lbs-16lbs-16lbs(sparco seats)=52lbs without installing the rails on the sparco seats.52lbs for 500euros aint good value for money(also considering tha fact that I must add the weight of the sparco rails)....But I will check the weight of my front seat after all just to make sure because maybe in europe they installed different seat that could weight more than the ones installed in usa.thanx for the info though I will update the topic if sth occurs.
Good point but i did not intended to do it myself at first and that is why I asked.the truth is that I expected a bigger number than the 42lbs.at least 40lbs without the rails.so I will weight them myself just to rull out even the last possibillity(the one that says that maybe from country to country the seats are different)
