Interesting Read - Honda being sued
I got something in the mail today from United States District Court - Eastern District of Texas Marshall Division about being a member of a "proposed Settlement Class and may be entitled to an extension of your vehicle's warranties, an extension of your lease contract and a cash refund" It applies to a purchased or leased Honda or Acura Model year 2002 through 2006 or Model 2007 Honda Fit between April 13, 2002 and November 7, 2006.
"If the court approves the proposed settlement, American Honda Motor Co., Inc (AHM) will extend by 5% the mileage-based coverage periods of certain warranties, extend annual mileage allowed by vehicles leased from American Honda Finance Company by 5%, and reimburse certain repairs and excess milage charges..."
I haven't read into it fully (I plan on doing that over a packed bowl and a cold beer), so once I read more I'll chime in with more info concerning this settlement. There are some websites that they have regarding this

Just figured I'd share. I'm not making a big stink about it yet until I read the nitty gritty.

I think I have read 5 threads in 2006+ Civic on this subject the past month and replied in them all.
It's no big deal, just a lawsuit basicly saying the digital odometers Honda used read slightly off. Honda will extend your warranty by a whopping 1800 miles for all the fuss. Your speedometer can read that far off by using a worn or smaller diameter tire. Plus Honda almost always goodwills most warranty claims 2-4k miles over the standard 3/36 if your a good Honda customer. All this lawsuit does is just pretty much eliminate any special consideration after your warranty is up.
